roll up a solid dark tone of ink
make sure the layer is thin and even
choose a subject and focus on the light areas
use a piece of paper towel to remove ink and create the light areas
draw lines with the back of a paintbrush
pull out more light areas with a cotton swab
blend and give some directional texture with a dry brush
and you have a very fast monotype with some interesting textures

Thank you very much Carol. I made the tutorial for my students during the first two weeks of the semester. I am very happy to know that other teachers/artists are using a similar idea.
